Write the scene down. Then filter shutter, format, CFA, pixel size, and interface. Megapixels and brand come last.

You walk out of a parking garage into noon sun and still see the pillars, the parked cars, and the trees outside. A camera without HDR does not. This is what high dynamic range actually means, in scenes you already know.
