The IMX547-AAQJ makes a practical FA choice when motion geometry, compact optics, and a 122.9 fps class readout matter more than headline resolution.

Sony's IMX547-AAQJ is a 1/1.8-type, 5.10 MP effective, stacked BSI color CMOS sensor in the Pregius S fourth-generation family. Its global shutter exposes every pixel in the same window, so moving parts, belts, and vehicles stay geometrically clean. The Camemaker shop row lists RGB Bayer, Raw Bayer 8/10/12-bit, LGA packaging, SLVS and SLVS-EC interfaces, and a maximum frame rate of 122.9 fps.

Global shutter on a compact stacked sensor

The useful combination here is global shutter plus a 2.74 µm pixel on an 8.8 mm optical diagonal. That gives machine-vision builders a compact 1/1.8 path for inspection, automation, ITS, and QA modules without accepting the skew that a rolling shutter can introduce around fast motion. Stacked BSI is part of the shop specification, while Sony's public product context identifies IMX547 as a Pregius S device.

This is also an industrial host path, not a MIPI-first phone default. Plan the sensor host and flex around SLVS or SLVS-EC early. Then match the lens to the coverage you already selected.

122.9 fps with bit depth context

The shop maximum is 122.9 fps. Sony's all-pixel datasheet figures separate that ceiling by ADC depth: 122.9 fps at 8-bit, 122.1 fps at 10-bit, and 82.4 fps at 12-bit. Treat 122.9 fps as the library headline, then confirm the bit depth, host bandwidth, and timing mode for the actual build. Camemaker lists HDR as false, so do not plan the module around an HDR checkbox.

Numbers that matter on the bench

  1. Part number: IMX547-AAQJ, color.
  2. 2. Resolution: 5.10 MP effective, with recommended recording at 2448 × 2048, approximately 5.01 MP.
  3. 3. Optical format: 1/1.8-type, with an 8.8 mm diagonal.
  4. 4. Pixel size: 2.74 µm × 2.74 µm.
  5. 5. Shutter: global.
  6. 6. Frame rate context: 122.9 fps at 8-bit, 122.1 fps at 10-bit, and 82.4 fps at 12-bit.
  7. 7. Interfaces: SLVS with 2, 4, or 8 channels, and SLVS-EC with 1 or 2 lanes.
  8. 8. Package: LGA, 230-pin, with a 20.0 mm × 16.8 mm package outline in the datasheet.

Build the stack in Camemaker

Start with the IMX547-AAQJ shop page: https://www.camemaker.com/shop/imx547-aaqj-sony-imx547-aaqj-5-10mp-stacked-bsi-122-9fps-1722

Pick sensor IMX547-AAQJ, choose coverage for your field of view and working distance, then match a lens using HFOV, VFOV, DFOV, EFL, TTL, F#, thread, CRA, and risk notes. Review the overview and mail the setup when the sensor, coverage, host path, and lens stack look right.

Specs are based on Sony public materials and the Camemaker shop row. Verify the final sensor mode and electrical limits against the datasheet before a production BOM.
